Trophy Hunting of Ungulates is a unique activity initiated by Wildlife Department. It is step forward and joint venture of Wildlife Department and local Community Based Organization (CBO). The catalytic factor behind this initiative is improvement in overall biodiversity of the CBO managed areas and harvesting surplus males of Ungulates only for trophy hunting that have lost breeding potential. Ultimately, a healthy population is maintained under natural circumstances. Every year bids/offers are invited from outfitters / tour operators through advertisement in newspapers. Most of the revenue generated (80%) though trophy hunting is provided to CBO for welfare of local community and improvement in CBO managed areas while 20% revenue is distributed among the staff engaged in protection activity.
