Artificial Breeding of Mahseer (A Success Story)

Mahseer is a important game fish of semi cold water areas of Pakistan, Nepal, India, Bangladesh and Malaysia. Critically endangered and included in the list of IUCN. The department launched a development scheme for artficial breeding of this endangered fish in 2001-04 at Nursery Unit Hattian Attock. The fish was artificially breed with great success fisrt time in south asia and get admiration nationally and internationally.
