Grow Festival at College of Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES), University of The Punjab in Collaboration with Punjab Forest Department

A festival regarding climate change was organized at CEES, University of the Punjab, with the title “Grow Festival” in collaboration with Indus Consortium, CEES and Punjab Forest Department on 13.12.2017.
Festival was inaugurated by Begum Zakia Shah Nawaz (Minister for Population Welfare and Environment) and Bilal Yaseen (Minister for Food). Ch. Iqbal, MPA, Dr. Zafar Moin Nasir, Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab, Ch. Gulzar, MPA, Mr. Muhammad Qazalbas, Country Director Oxford, Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Shakeel Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, Bahua-din Zakriya University, Mr. Jamshaid Fareed, Chairman Indus Consortium, Dr. Sarwat Naz Mirza, Vice Chancellor, Arid University, Rawalpindi, Sajid Rasheed Ahmad, Principal CEEES, University of the Punjab also participated in the event and appreciated the efforts of the Forest Department to make the occasion colorful and attractive.
Major events of the festival were, planting ceremony, free distribution of plants among the students and public, establishment of forestry stall for distribution of publicity material. In addition to it the students arranged different informative and food stalls. Sufi Night was also celebrated. (View Pictures)
